The BAMdialogue format provides audiences with an opportunity to hear the creative minds behind BAM productions, as they discuss the ideas and methods of their work. The BAMdialogue is an interview held before a performance and led by a prominent critic, scholar, or artist. A question and answer session with the audience follows the interview.

BAMdialogues are your opportunity to listen to and ask questions of many of the groundbreaking artists featured in this year’s Next Wave Festival.

Oct 22 at 6pm BAM Rose Cinema 2	The New Yorkers “Michael Gordon, David Lang and Julia Wolfe fomented a revolution with their rock-inflected music…” (Time Out New York). These three inventive composer/founders of Bang on a Can talk with John Schaefer, host of WNYC’s New Sounds and the nationally-syndicated series Chamber Music New York.
Nov 5 at 6pm BAM Hillman Attic Studio	The Hanging Man Learn about the work of The Improbable Theatre, recognized as one of the most original companies on the international stage, when Mark Russell, Executive Producer of P.S. 122, interviews Phelim McDermott and Lee Simpson of The Hanging Man’s creative team.
Nov 20 at 6pm BAM Rose Cinema 2	Moon Water Lin Hwai-min, founder and choreographer of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan (last seen at BAM amid three tons of falling rice grain in Songs of the Wanderers), discusses the company’s critically acclaimed work with multidisciplinary artist Meredith Monk (2002 Next Wave).
Dec 4 at 6pm BAM Rose Cinema 2	Alladeen The transformative tale of Aladdin meets modern technology in this cross-media collaboration between the New York-based ensemble The Builders Association and the London-based motiroti. Join director Marianne Weems as she discusses this piece with Radhika Subramaniam, the Executive Editor of the journal Connect:art.politics.theory.practice.
Dec 9 at 6pm BAM Rose Cinema 2	The Flight Project Who better to celebrate the glory of flight than a dancer? On this, the centennial of the Wright Brothers’ maiden flight, join Dayton Contemporary Dance Company’s artistic director Kevin Ward and choreographers Bebe Miller, Dwight Rhoden and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, as they talk with Celia Ipiotis, host of the weekly television series Eye On Dance.
