Online Order Fulfillment

Online ticket orders by BAM subscribers and members are emailed with security encryption directly to BAM Ticket Services. These ticket orders are not real-time transactions; they are fulfilled manually upon receipt by BAM Ticket Services representatives. While we strive to post the most current ticket availability on the website, due to technical limitations it is possible that we will not be able to accommodate your preferred date or seating section. Providing alternate date/seating section options at the time of your order will enable faster ticket processing. Handling fees for subscribers and members are explained below.

Single ticket orders are live, secure transactions.

Ticket Exchanges

Subscribers may exchange their tickets at no charge for a different date of the same event in the same price class (subject to availability). Subscribers ordering "Bring a Friend" add-on single tickets at the 15% discount who wish to exchange their tickets must exchange both subscription and add-on seats together for the same performance date. Single ticket buyers may exchange their tickets for a $15 per ticket fee ($8 for Friends of BAM; no fee for Patrons) for a different date of the same event in the same price class (subject to availability).

Tickets for the Cunningham Dance Foundation Benefit on Oct 14 may not be exchanged by subscribers or single ticket buyers.

To exchange your tickets, please return them to BAM Ticket Services by certified mail at least five days before the original performance date, or come to the box office at least 48 hours prior to the performance. Exchanges cannot be made on lost tickets.

Subscriptions

A Next Wave Festival subscription must consist of an equal number of tickets to four or more different mainstage events. As a special offer available only through Aug 29, subscriptions with seven or more different mainstage events will receive a 30% discount. Subscriptions with four, five, or six events, as well as all subscription add-on events and seven-or-more-event subscriptions ordered after Aug 29, will receive a 20% discount. Cunningham Dance Foundation Benefit tickets may be applied toward subscription event minimums, but subscription discounts are not valid. No retroactive discounts are permitted. Performances purchased as part of Brooklyn Philharmonic subscriptions may not be applied to Next Wave subscriptions.

Mail: Mail order form to BAM Ticket Services, 30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217. If you are paying by check, please enclose a blank check payable to: Brooklyn Academy of Music. For your protection, in lower left-hand corner write "Not to exceed $" and insert the total amount of your ticket order. This avoids the delay and inconvenience of a refund process if the order cannot be filled completely.

The Fine Print: Subscriptions are seated in the order in which they are received. Subscribers receive priority seating through Aug 29. Subscription orders must be received at least ten days prior to the opening night of the first performance in your series. Orders received at least two weeks prior to the first performance in your series will be mailed; all other orders will be held at the box office. Subscriptions cannot be ordered at the box office.

Add-on Events: Those who wish to add additional events to their subscription may do so at their subscription discount rate; once their season activity has reached seven events, any additional events ordered by Aug 29 will receive a 30% discount. No retroactive discounts are permitted. After Aug 29, events added to your initial subscription order at least ten days before that event's opening night performance will be priced at a 20% discount; any events added within ten days of that event's opening night will be at the full single ticket price. Events added to your subscription must carry an equal ticket quantity to all other events in your series to receive a discount. To order add-on events, please mail, fax, or phone in your order to BAM Ticket Services. These orders cannot be placed in person at the BAM Box Office. All orders are subject to ticket availability and handling fees. Please note ticket exchange privileges that follow.

"Bring a Friend" Offer Details: Add up
to two single tickets to each event in your subscription-tickets must be for the same date, time, and price class as your subscription-and receive 15% off the full ticket price. Bring a Friend tickets are not available for the Cunningham Dance Foundation Benefit on Oct 14. BAM cannot guarantee adjacent seating for tickets added to your subscription after your original order is placed. These tickets cannot be ordered at the box office window and must be purchased at least ten days prior to the chosen event's opening performance. All orders subject to availability and handling fees.

Single Tickets

Next Wave: Friends of BAM may purchase single tickets before the general public by calling BAM Ticket Services beginning Aug 25. Beginning Sep 2 all remaining seats for Next Wave Festival performances are available for single ticket purchase.

Handling Fees

Tickets to BAM events may be ordered from the following outlets: BAM Ticket Services (phone, fax, mail, and internet) and in person at the BAM box office. Following are the associated ticket handling fees.

Single tickets purchased on BAM.org are subject to a $3.50 per ticket handling fee (Humanities events are $2.00 per ticket). Handling fees are waved for Friends of BAM (be sure to log on using the Friends of BAM icon.)

BAM Ticket Services handling fees:
Subscriptions $6 per subscription. Additional tickets ordered after the initial subscription has been placed are subject to a handling fee of $6 per single ticket.|

Tickets ordered in person at the BAM Box Office are not subject to handling fees. Note, subscriptions cannot be ordered at the box office.

Student/Senior Rush

BAM Student/Senior Rush is only $10.00 per ticket!
BAM's rush policy is designed to give students and seniors the opportunity to attend live performances at a reasonable price. Student rush allows BAM to fill otherwise unsold seats and offers students cheap tickets to a variety of interesting performances.

Two hours before curtain unsold tickets are made available to students. Full or part-time students at academically accredited institutions can purchase up to two tickets per performance for $10 per ticket. Just show your valid student identification and proof of age. Students must be 25 years or younger. For shows with limited tickets, a student rush standby line will be formed at the discretion of theater management. All student rush tickets will be sold after full-price ticket buyers have been accommodated. Depending on the show and day you attend, different seats will be left unsold and made available for student rush. For one performance, you might have orchestra seats ten rows from the stage. For another, balcony seats-it all depends on what's left. Seating is at the discretion of the box office. Lines can be long, so bring cash to speed the process (sorry, we cannot accept checks at the box office). No tickets will be sold once the performance has started, so make sure to come early. On Fridays and Saturdays, stick around after the performance for live music in BAMcafé (No Cover! / $10 food/drink minimum at table).

BAM performances are accessible to those who use wheelchairs. For information and to arrange accommodations, please call 718.636.4159.

All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. Programs, dates, times, and venues are subject to change without notice.

Late seating is solely at the discretion of BAM management. Out of respect for the artists and audiences, latecomers will only be admitted to the theater if there is a suitable break in the performance. Ticketed seat locations are not guaranteed past curtain time.

Children under 5 are not admitted unless explicitly noted.
